How EJF Manages Your Community

From the first month, EJF conducts a full review of your association's finances, outstanding action items, and physical condition. That review produces a prioritized management plan before anything else happens. Every EJF client is assigned both a community manager and an assistant manager, not because it's standard practice, but because transitions happen and your community shouldn't feel them.

EJF organizes its managers into collaborative pods, each supervised by a veteran manager. When someone is out, another team member already knows your community. That built-in redundancy is what makes EJF's management model different from a typical single-manager setup.

EJF is a CAI-accredited management company and holds a BBB A+ rating, serving condominiums, cooperatives, HOAs, and townhome communities across Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia since 1996.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's the professional day-to-day running of an HOA, condominium association, or cooperative on behalf of the volunteer board. That includes collecting assessments, paying invoices, preparing financial reports, coordinating maintenance, managing vendors, attending board meetings, and keeping residents informed. EJF has handled all of it for 650+ associations across DC, Maryland, and Virginia since 1996.

Full-service gives you a community manager who's physically in your market. They come to board meetings, walk the property, and deal with contractors face-to-face. Remote management handles all the same administrative and financial work through technology, EJF uses Vantaca, but the manager works digitally. If something physical comes up, a local EJF team covers it. Remote typically costs 15–30% less than full-service.

It depends on your budget, how involved your board is, and how much on-site complexity your property has. A smaller condo with an engaged board and no major capital projects might be well served by Remote or Fiscal Plus. A 150-unit community with aging infrastructure and a part-time board probably needs Full-Service. EJF offers a free initial consultation to help you figure out the right fit before you commit.

Condominiums, cooperatives, HOAs, and townhome communities. EJF has deep expertise in DC cooperative housing, that goes back to the Edmund J. Flynn Company's pioneering work in Washington cooperative housing in the 1920s. If your community is a co-op and you've struggled to find a firm that truly understands the ownership structure and legal nuances, EJF has experience most competitors don't.
