At EJF, we understand that selling your management company is more than just a financial transaction. Our experienced team of owner-operators wants to ensure a good fit for both you and the EJF family, while also considering the full extent of your goals and unique perspective as a seller.

EJF completed its first acquisition in 2015, purchasing a small, 12-community portfolio management company in Washington DC. Since then, acquisition growth has accelerated and expanded beyond the metropolitan area and has contributed to the company's current portfolio of 500+ communities.

In each of our acquisitions, we are mindful of the legacy aspect of selling a business, specifically within this industry. While some company owners are ready to step back, many others continue to be involved. In fact, EJF’s current executive team consists primarily of former owners of previously acquired companies, which illustrates the opportunity for continued growth within the organization.

The EJF difference:

  1. An acquisition designed in accordance with seller's goals: Limited or continued involvement? Retirement? Role and responsibility change? Regardless of your reasons for selling, EJF works closely with you to ensure your goals are not only understood, but also become an integral part of the transition plan.
  2. We will work together on things such as staff absorption, company name changes, and a mutually agreeable timetable for completion of the acquisition process.
  3. Multiple purchase structure options.
  4. Minimal review of company financials dependent upon size and purchase structure
  5. Privately owned, owner-operators with decades of experience in managing operations
