Prior to co-founding EJF Real Estate Services in 1996 along with his brother Peter, Matthew owned and operated a small contracting business, Maintenance and Repair Service (M.A.R.S.), for six years. He graduated from the University of West Virginia in 1989 with a degree in Marketing. Matthew is an active sales agent and holds Associate Brokers licenses in DC, Maryland and Virginia. Matthew serves as the general contractor for most of EJF’s development project. Matthew’s commitment to providing quality housing is evident by his involvement in Hands on Housing, a local, non-profit organization that provides volunteer labor for affordable housing organizations throughout the city where he leads a team of volunteers and serves as HOH’s development consultant.
